What I did
- Modeled it on Paste, and left out iCloud sync, shared boards, teams and AI on purpose.
- Built it in native SwiftUI and AppKit. History stays in a local database on the Mac.
- Skips anything copied from a password manager by default, and ⌘T pauses it.
- Search finds text inside images, and Paste Stack pastes several items in order.
- Kept the core logic apart from the interface so it can be unit tested.
Results

What was hard
Shelf is signed ad hoc, not notarized by Apple. Every new build breaks the Mac's Accessibility permission, so people have to remove Shelf from the list and add it back.
