What I did
- Pitched IDG as a company's outside AI department, sold to its leaders, instead of one more chatbot.
- Ran a three-round design process for the website. The team picked one prototype together, and I approved the launch on October 7, 2026.
- Wrote the honesty rules for the site: no client claims, prices, reviews or logos until they're real.
- Moved the site's heaviest work off the main thread, so scrolling stopped stalling on phones.
- Before IDG, under AgentStax, I built automations for 4 local businesses that connect Google Workspace, Slack and video files.
Results
- 435 merged pull requests across IDG's code, mostly written by AI coding agents I directed and reviewed
- 4 local businesses automated at AgentStax
- 2 live sites, idg.consulting and the IDG Briefing newsletter
As of October 27, 2026
What was hard
A redirect from agentstax.ai went out as permanent when it should have been temporary. Browsers cached it within hours, so the site has to keep it forever.
The Privacy and Terms pages also went live without a lawyer's review. That's still open.
